 Today we continued working with the new vocabulary, and started with the phonics for this unit.   Today we finished the oral exams, and then we discussed the written exam next week. I gave the students definitions of phonics words that they need to know for the test. They also need to know the definitions of the vocabulary words from the last four weeks, how to use the vocabulary words, and details from the stories. The unit tests from The Story of the Statue of Liberty were sent home today; please sign and return them. This weekend's homework is to correct the test and study for the upcoming exam.  The listening exam was this morning. Today in class we reviewed for the oral exam. We will start the oral exam tomorrow; and will finish it on Friday if more than one day is needed. Tonight's homework is to review the reading street sections for the oral exam.

 Today we reviewed the vocabulary and focused on matching the definitions to the word.  I sent home new copies of the vocabulary for the past four weeks today. A few words were added to make sure everything they need to know for the exams will be covered.  Tonight's homework is to review for the oral exam, and to write the new vocabulary words 5x each, write the definition, and draw a picture for each word.

 Today we reviewed, and then took the Unit test for The Story of the Statue of Liberty. The tests will be sent home on Monday. The exam scope was sent home today with the communication books. This weekend's homework is to practice for next week's Oral Exam. Students can choose either page 257 or page 369 in Reading Street and read it aloud to me for the exam. Their homework is to choose a page, and then practice it this weekend.
